The V8 Supercar Championship Series continues this weekend, and for the first time this year will be held in Australia, as the Clipsal 500 takes place in Adelaide.
The round spans over Friday/Saturday/Sunday, with two races on the Saturday and Sunday evenings, both of which are made up of 78 laps spanning 250km on the Adelaide Street Circuit.
It seems Holden is set to win the meet dominating the odds at $1.25 with Ford trailing at $4.
Once again Jamie Whincup is clear favourite to win at $2.15. After dictating the opening two rounds in the Middle East, the TeamVodafone driver seems set to further his lead in the series, after winning the Clipsal 500 in 2009.
Once again Jamie Whincup is clear favourite to win at $2.15.
Teammate to Whincup – Craig Lowndes is at $6. After a fantastic start to the V8 Supercar Series, Lowndes has had podium finishes at both rounds, and has $2 odds to finish on the podium in Adelaide.
However, it seems Ford’s top driver; Mark Winterbottom is most likely the man to beat Whincup at $5. Sitting second on the Chamionship leader board, Winterbottom will be looking to close the gap between himself and the double Championship winner.
Closing out the odds for the Clipsall 500 is Tony Dalberto at $1,001 to win. While unlikely that the Holden driver will finish first, if he managed to overcome the odds, the payout would certainly be substantial – while the more likely podium finish for Dalberto is $201, which is still a handsome reward.
