As the 2010 Clipsal 500 gets underway, the race becomes more than just the opening round of the Australian stint in the V8 Supercars Series, as a new Grand Slam has been announced.
The $2 million Grand Slam will become an annual event.
Worth $2 million, the first leg of the newly-formed Grand Slam is Adelaide’s Clipsal 500, and will also see the Bathurst 1000, the Gold Coast SuperCarnivale and the Sydney Telstra 500 form the series.
As the richest bonus in motor racing in Australia, the $2 million Grand Slam will become an annual event, and will no doubt raise the profile of V8 racing in Australia.
